Covey Matrix

Four quadrants, two axes: urgent or not, important or not. The value of the Covey matrix has never been the theory — it's the moment you drop a task into urgent but not important and realise you've been spending your week there.

Notes from building it

• The drag target has to be bigger than it looks. Sorting is the whole product; anything that makes it fiddly kills the habit.
• Quadrant II (important, not urgent) needs to be the largest and most inviting cell on screen, because it's the one people avoid.
• Built on a plain PHP and MySQL stack — unfashionable, fast, and still running.
