Nice To Do

Most task apps are built around a single list and a single feeling: everything on it is equally urgent, and anything left over is a failure. Nice To Do splits the day in two.

Must-dos are the short, honest list of what actually has to happen. Nice-to-dos are everything else — the things worth doing that were never worth feeling bad about. Clearing the must-dos wins the day. Anything else is a bonus.

Why it works this way

• A day you can finish is a day you'll come back to. Ten open items is a backlog; three is a plan.
• Progress is celebrated, not just recorded — the app is loudest when you finish, not when you're behind.
• Rollover is deliberate friction. If something moves forward three days in a row, it probably isn't a must-do.
